It had been a lovely, if very warm day.

There was never a time when the gardens at Wisley don't look good, but today the roses in the Beauslyan Rose Gardens have been stunning.

We had stumbled on the best time to go and the roses and all the perennials seemed to be at their absolute best with perfect blooms, creating an explosion of colour.

And with the heat, the scent was *********.
